Important Travel Update: Clearance Required for Certain Medications to and from Saudi Arabia

Effective 1 November 2025, passengers traveling to or from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who are carrying medications containing narcotic substances or psychotropic drugs for personal use are required to obtain a clearance permit prior to travel.

This applies to all travelers, including those carrying such medications on behalf of a patient.

To obtain the necessary clearance, passengers must submit their request through the Controlled Drugs System (CDS) electronic platform via the following link: http://cds.sfda.gov.sa

Alternatively, passengers may scan the official QR code provided by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).

KLM reminds all travelers to complete this clearance process before departure to ensure a smooth travel experience and compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations.

For more information, please visit the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) website or contact local health authorities.
